Testimonials – My Vis Moot Experience.

Looking back at my college life, I can certainly say that competing in the Vis moot was the defining moment of my degree days at Madras Law College. Having not previously studied the law regarding international commercial arbitration, I participated in the Vis moot to enhance my advocacy skills and learn about a new area of law.

In order to prepare myself for this moot, I took part in the NLS Arbitration Moot Court Competition held in National Law School of India University, Bangalore. This mooting experience gave me a fair idea of what arbitration proceedings is all about. Later on I took part in the college selection rounds in 2011 and was ranked first.

The requirements of the moot were indeed demanding. The biggest problems I met as a mootie was to keep in pace with the memo deadlines and to strike a balance between the regular coursework and the moot. Sleepless nights and challenging feedback from fellow mooties are part and parcel of Vis moot experience. Considering the opportunity to travel to Vienna and the blissful experience which you will gain over the seven month period, I would strongly suggest the moot to any future student at the Madras Law College.
